Preparing for marriage part 3.
Preparing oneself for marriage biblically is the same as preparing for any life endeavor. Preparation they say prevents poor performance. In our last edition we looked at the need for desire. To drive it a bit further today we examine the need for commitment to God and your spouse.
These trait is most evident in a person who has an intimate relationship with God. As you prepare yourself for marriage, focus on allowing God to shape you and mold you into the man or woman He wants you to be (Romans 12:1-2). If you submit yourself to Him, He will enable you to be ready for marriage when that wonderful day arrives. it's wrong to pray for the right person in marriage without asking God to make you the right person.
What commitment is!
1)Commitment is the willingness to do whatever it will take for your marriage to excel or be blissful.
(2) commitment is forgetting your right to allow your spouse have his/her right of way. Research studies shows that 85% of divorced couples indicated a lack of commitment to the marriage and to each other as their reason for divorce.
3)To be committed in marriage is to be intimately close with your spouse,
Commitment to your spouse fosters love, joy, fulfillment and the Scripture that says "He that finds a wife finds a good thing and obtain favor from the Lord"
